Mayuri Phukan, Director

Research Interest: Integrated Water Resources Management

Mayuri is a water resource professional with research interests in flood adaptation, hydrology and water governance. Her works include stream aquifer interaction modelling, water governance analysis, wastewater reuse planning and river basin management. She also has experience in conducting stakeholder consultation workshops, participatory rural appraisal exercises and environmental compliance audits. She has a postgraduate degree in water science and governance program from TERI School of Advanced Studies, New Delhi and is a graduate in Physics from St. Xavier’s College, Mumbai. Mayuri is currently pursuing her Doctoral Studies at Utrecht University, Netherlands. She is from Dibrugarh, Assam and currently resides in New Delhi.

Sagarmoy Phukan, Deputy Director

Research Interest: Sustainable Cities and Communities

Sagarmoy is a young professional working on urban climate resilience, urban heat islands, adaptation and mitigation, air pollution, resources management & circular economy and polycentric governance & citizen science approach. He has a post-graduate degree in climate science and policy from TERI School of Advanced Studies, New Delhi and completed his Bachelor’s degree from Ramjas College, University of Delhi. Previously he has worked as an Environment Impact Assessment Consultant and also as Research Associate for various organizations. Currently, he is pursuing his Doctoral Studies from the University of York, United Kingdom at the Stockholm Environment Institute – York (SEI-Y). Sagarmoy hails from Dibrugarh, Assam.

Pratyush Paras Sarma, Research Director

Research Interest: Policy Interventions

Hailing from Tezpur, Assam, Pratyush Paras Sarma has a postgraduate in Development Studies from the Indian Institute of Technology, Guwahati and holds a bachelor’s degree in Political Science from Ramjas College, University of Delhi. Currently, he is pursuing his Doctoral Studies at the Australian National University (ANU), Canberra.

Pratyush is an ardent researcher with experiences in various socio-political and development fields. His expertise lies in comparative politics in Southeast Asia and other developing countries, governance and policy development, amongst others. He has contributed towards developing a research strategy for the Integrated Capacity Building Training Program on the Swachh Bharat Mission (Urban), Delhi (NCR), at the All India Institute of Local Self Government. He also worked at Guwahati-based IT company, Scabbard Tech in developing strategies for social media campaigns and vlogs. Pratyush has also carried out in-depth research on participatory governance under the MGNREGA scheme in Assam.

Trisanki Saikia, Science Communication and Knowledge Management

Research Interest: Economics and Climate Action

Trisanki Saikia is from Guwahati and has a post-graduate degree in economics (with specialization in environment and resource management). She is a young professional interested in climate change and resource management and wants to leverage her skills in qualitative and quantitative research methods to create a meaningful impact on the environment and development sector. She is a proponent of open science communication. She has been engaged in research and documentation of climate change and landscape projects from Asia, Africa, and Latin America, in addition to researching and documenting climate change and sustainability projects from various parts of India.

Kallol Borah, Lead Analyst

Research Interest: Environmental Management and Analytics

Kallol Borah is a geographer from Guwahati. His interest lies in understanding the uniqueness of habitats and the communities within and their traditional knowledge of adaptation to environmental changes. He is currently working as a research scholar at the Gauhati University concentrating mainly on GHG emissions and mitigation methods. Earlier, he had worked on projects on urban heat islands, thermal comfort, sustainable habitats, natural resources mapping and air pollution monitoring. Kallol also works as an upcycling artist with a motive to promote the reuse of resources and waste products. 

Hillol Talukdar, Business Development and Client Relations

Hillol hails from Guwahati. He is a Management Consultant at EY with 4.5 years of experience across Strategy, Financial Planning and Analysis, Project Management, Market Research, Data Analytics and Visualization, Contract Lifecycle Management and Vendor Management. He is a GGI Impact Scholar 2021 at Global Governance Initiative and also a Global Fellow 2021 at Cases over coffee. Hillol is a graduate of Hindu College, University of Delhi. He has completed his MBA from the Indian School of Business (ISB), Hyderabad in Post Graduate Program (PGP) in General Management.

Nivedhita Venkatesh, Marketing and PR

Nivedhita Venkatesh is a PR and Corporate Communications professional with more than two years of experience. Her professional career started with Vedanta Ltd., after being hired as a Management trainee for the Aluminium & Power Business at Jharsuguda, Orissa and following which after an internal transfer, she was placed at Vedanta Ltd-Iron Ore Karnataka Business. During her tenure at Vedanta, she received immense exposure toggling between a multitude of roles such as public relations, content writing, branding, marketing, designing, internal engagement and internal and external communications.
